I used this for a month or so. The range on the vtx was pretty bad, a kilometer was definitely not possible even at the full 600mw power setting with a solid diversity receiver. There's also not much in the way of connections. For the price it's ok if you're going to fly close range but there are better options out there.

The Mobula7 is a really nice little whoop class quad and in my opinion would make a perfect second quad after someone learns the basics with a brushed whoop. I still consider myself a noob in the RC hobby only into it in the past few years after coming back to it after decades. I've acquired a few quads in the last few years, a couple of mini's and a couple of micro's aka tiny whoops. I found that I have the most fun flying the whoops. The one issue a had with the whoops I had was the 1s battery limit and the brushed motors. 1s is fine most of the time zipping around indoors, sometimes I just wanted a bit more power available when flying outside to fight the wind, and when I fly I run through a lot of packs which meant I wore out motors rather quickly. The Mobula7 basically covered both of those issues giving me the option of 1s or 2s for batteries, and brushless motors that will hold up better to just flying about air you wearing out. Is the Mobula7 perfect? Well nothing is perfect, but sometimes things are pretty close and the Mobula 7 is for me. I still think people wanting to try the hobby should start with a brushed whoop the Mobula7 is the perfect next step for new and casual hobbyists to continue learning the skills and maintenance/repair/tweaking knowledge you'll need for the larger quads.
