The IEEE 1394 Veloce Serial Bus STANDARD (commonly known as Firewire) is a PCI peer-to-peer interconnect and interface system is widely recognized as the primary for digital audio and video equipment. The IEEE 1394a STANDARD supports hot-swappable quick links to printers, hard drives, multimedia devices, and consumer electronics like game controllers and camcorders.
The VT6307 series host controller provides a serial performance link for the IEEE 1394 and 1394a serial bus standard by executing the Link and Physics layers.
