Do I need an external power supply?


The M.2 interface itself has no 12V power supply capability and requires a 12V power supply. A small 4P to SATA power cord is included with the product. The power cord must be connected for the PCIe card to operate normally.

Why can't the extension cord be too long? Is it possible if I want to use a cord longer than 1 meter?


The shorter the wire, the better the signal. The longer the wire, the more obvious the three major shortcomings of signal attenuation, signal interference, and signal delay. Our engineers spent a year testing various wires and finally completed products with low impedance and anti-interference. The actual test can run at a high speed under 60 cm, and the signal will be attenuated beyond 70 cm. If you want to run within the 1 meter line, you must force the motherboard BIOS to set PCIe1.0 or 2.0 low speed to run normally. But please note that various conditions are different, and the line of more than 2 meters still has a high failure rate.


Suggestion: Choose a suitable wire length and set the BIOS to slow down appropriately.
